Welcome to The Weekly Wiggle 🌱
brought to you by The Wiggle Room
This week that fresh air is still a little sharp, but the sun is sticking around longer, playgrounds are starting to fill up again, and you can feel that shift into spring.
However this season looks for you, we’re really glad you’re here (hit reply and let us know if you’re enjoy a slow, busy, or in-between season).
Let’s get into what’s happening this week in Lethbridge.
Tiny Brain Teaser 🧠

Strength for Life @ LSCO

Anyone looking for low-impact, strength-focused movement that supports real life. You will love this offering if you’re rebuilding your strength postpartum, maintaining mobility as a senior, or just getting started at any stage of life.
✨ Start with our weekly drop-in, and stay for the workshops. Come move, build consistency, and feel supported. Bring your mom, your baby, your teen, or just yourself. Our accompanying Strength for Life workshop series will focus on simple, sustainable habits around movement, nutrition, and energy.

Local Things to Do This Week
Here are a few easy, family-friendly options if you’re looking to get out of the house:
The Helen Schuler Nature Centre is right in that seasonal transition moment. This is one of the last chances to check out their winter exhibit before the spring exhibit launches April 1. Their outdoor spaces are perfect right now for a short wander + reset. We had the pleasure of checking out their current Winter Animal Tracking Adventure (running through March 24th) as well as the Lethbridge Plays activity room. It’s a great outing for your family - no matter the weather.
Spring Play Pop-Ups continue, and if you missed the last one, keep your eye out. These are such an easy yes (free, low pressure, lots of space for kids to just be kids).
The YMCA of Lethbridge has spring and summer registration open now. Check out swim lessons, sports, and family programming ASAP as they tend to fill up quickly this time of year. Mat leave parents: did you know the YMCA has a subsidized membership through the City of Lethbridge Fee Assistance Program?
Building Brains Together is hosting their weekly brain game sessions at Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre, and they also have a family event coming up March 28 at the University of Lethbridge.
New This Month
We’re collaborating with The Movie Mill on a few family-friendly offerings during Mom & Tot Tuesdays and Saturday Morning Family Movies. Keep an eye out during these family-friendly showings 👀
If you’re looking for something simple to keep you motivated: have you tried the 1000 hours outside challenge? Playgrounds are slowly becoming usable again… which is handy because👇
🌳 we’re partnering with Lethbridge Plays for Playground of the Month. Each month we’ll shine a spotlight on a different playground in the city, celebrating fun, accessibility, and community spirit.
Want to be a part of it? Hit “reply” and:
• Recommend your favourite park in the city
• Share ideas for upgrades at parks around Lethbridge
• Volunteer to be part of the fun (try out new parks in town)
This is such a simple way to build more connection in our city, and we’d love to have you involved. We’d love to hear from you if you’re in!
Wiggle-at-Home Activity (5 minutes)
If your kids have energy but you’re not quite ready for outside:
Tape Track Race
low effort, high engagement & cleans up easily when you’re done.
1️⃣ Use painter’s tape to make lines across the floor
2️⃣ Create “roads,” zig-zags, or obstacle paths
3️⃣ Race cars, walk the line, or turn it into a balance challenge
Make it harder:
• Walk backwards/sideways/like a crab/penguin/etc.
• Carry something without dropping it
• Time each other - who can increase their time?
Little Thing We’re Loving:
Letting kids choose the destination.
Instead of “we’re going for a walk” try “you’re in charge today, where are we going?”
It might take longer. It might make no sense. But it turns a basic outing into an adventure and gives them just enough ownership to stay engaged. Reply to this email and let me know what fun place your little one wanted to adventure to this week.
